10 members and 9 guests enjoyed , dare I say it , a "gorgeous " trip over to Stoke Row to visit Green and Gorgeous flowers in early June .We went to see the 10 acres dedicated to cut flowers, cultivated by a husband and wife plus help! I don't think any of us will forget the smell ,as the door of the sweet pea poly tunnel was opened ,or the rows of perfect peonies. Apparently, these are very popular with brides and six ladies are employed on Saturdays to arrange the flowers for occasions. They are open to the public on Saturday mornings.
Forty-seven members and guests travelled by coach to the RHS spring show on a beautiful sunny day. The coach made it very relaxing and easy and everyone really enjoyed the day.
There were stunning show gardens, lots of specialist nursery exhibits and the Floral Marquee and much more to see and learn. A wide range of plants, food and crafts and anything to do with gardens was available to buy and many of us returned to the coach laden with goods and plants.
